Founder of modern Day Buffalo Gap Retreat, and a former graduate level Aerospace Engineer (Virginia Tech B.S. / M.S. Mechanical Engineering), Vince currently has a massage therapy practice of 20 years, and enjoys outdoor recreation, hiking, camping, exploring, world travel, and being an entrepreneur.

A former campground founder and owner  (Abram's Creek Retreat and Family Campground 2004 - 2011) as well as former General Manager of Buffalo Gap in 2010 for then owner B.K. Haynes, Vince has over 16 years in the business of creating, managing and running campgrounds & retreats.

Vince founded and saved (from developers) modern Buffalo Gap in 2015 after he purchased private property and cabins here, and 2 years later, brought on partners to purchase and maintain and run the rest of the camp as a Retreat property open to the public using an Airbnb cabin rental model, and later adding Hipcamp for camping.

Currently lives in Arlington, VA with husband, Frank and son, Sam.  She is a licensed massage therapist in both DC and Virginia and has been practicing for 26 years. Barbara grew up in New York City and went to the University of Albany. Before becoming a massage therapist, she worked as a political pollster, market researcher, media buyer and advertising salesperson.  Barbara loves the property at Buffalo Gap because it reminds her of the sleep away camps she went to as a small child.

Barbara Jazzo

Sean was born and bred in Los Angeles, where he may still be found when the property shutters for the wintertime. Rockhounding, geology, lapidary, gardening, handicrafts, history, kayaking, and amateur photography are all interests, as is exploring, particularly off the beaten path.

Before joining Buffalo Gap Retreat, Sean enjoyed a 20+ year career in videogame publishing, working with many talented and accomplished teams, both domestically and abroad.

Looking for a change of pace, his latest (ad)venture brings him to Buffalo Gap Retreat as part-owner, and on-site manager. He views stewardship of the property, which is special to so many, as a sacred trust. He’s thrilled to have joined the team and hopes to further cultivate Buffalo Gap as a welcoming and natural refuge from the stresses of everyday life.

 "Camp Dog"

Rocky hails from North Carolina where she was turned into a shelter as a stray.  She joined Geoff and Sharyn's family on October 31, 2020 via City Dog Rescue (her adoption application was submitted on our way to Buffalo Gap and the paperwork was approved on our way back from Buffalo Gap!)  Rocky's shelter name was Rochelle, but that name didn't fit her rambunctious personality and her propensity to box with other dogs.  Rocky is a lab mix with a passion for stalking deer, squirrels, moles, and mice.  If you meet Rocky at Buffalo Gap, she's super friendly but she might lick you furiously.  Her favorite snacks include broccoli, peanut butter, and salmon skin.
