Mats are available for all participants.
Morning Qigong
Energize your day with a morning Qigong session with Matthew Kenny. This workshop is tailored for beginners and introduces participants to the ancient Chinese mind-body practice that uses slow, deliberate movements, controlled breathing, and meditation to improve health and spiritual well-being. The term translates to "cultivating vital energy," referring to the life-force, or qi, that traditional Chinese medicine believes flows throughout the body.
Evening Meditation
Join a guided meditative journey to the sanctuary residing within each of us. Take time to unwind and settle into the rhythm of nighttime at Buffalo Gap Retreat in this gentle guided interlude to relax and prepare for a night of restoration.
Indian Cooking Workshops
Join Amit & Jinder for a unique hands-on experience to learn the art of preparing authentic Indian food and drink. Participants will learn to use a variety of spices and practice cooking techniques in this fun, interactive experience.

Saturday morning, Jinder will teach the group to make a delicious Chai, based on a favorite family recipie.

Saturday evening, Amit will lead the group in learning to cook Palak Paneer, a classic curried dish from North Indian cuisine made with fresh spinach, onions, spices, paneer and herbs.
Nature Walk @ Ice Mountain Preserve (off site)
or Nature Walk (on-site)
Sean will guide a nature walk at the local and mysterious Ice Mountain Preserve.
Going back to when natives called this area home, people have utilized this unique geologic feature to gather naturally forming ice from the vents at the base of an ancient rockslide. The cooling effect sustains flora and fauna normally found much farther north. Come explore this unique natural and cultural touchstone. Moderately strenuous. Come prepared with sturdy hiking shoes, water, and walking stick (recommended).

For those looking for a milder activity, Crystal will lead an interpretive plant walk on-site at Buffalo Gap, exploring and educating the diverse local plantscape.
Wood Fired Sauna & Cold Plunge
Relax and unwind in our traditional wood-fired sauna. Built in 1985 by master
carpenter Peter Gott, the sauna is a popular amenity at Buffalo Gap Retreat.
The naturally cold spring water is perfect for a casual cold plunge
after warming up. It will be set up for daily group participation.
Evening Bonfire & Dessert
Hang out, warm up, and wind down at the evening bonfire.
Enjoy a curated bonfire dessert designed to indulge your sweet tooth,
as you reflect and chat about the activities of the day.
